We're looking for a talented animator to bring Mermaid Elle: Saving the Seas to life! This is your chance to show your skills, win $1,000 and be considered for future paid work on upcoming projects.

How It Works

Mermaid Elle: Saving the Seas is available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Target and many other retail stores in the US. Pick up your copy, choose your favorite scene, and bring it to life! Animate a scene from the book that includes both Mermaid Elle and Gunk characters.

Location

This competition is open to US entries only.

Requirements

• Animation must be at least 15 seconds long

• Must be accurate to the description of the characters in the book

• Do not reproduce existing illustrations from the book

• Animation should include the Mermaid Elle and Gunk characters

• AI-generated imagery will not be accepted

Rights & Ownership

You keep full ownership of your submission. By entering, you receive a limited license from the author to create animation based on Mermaid Elle: Saving the Seas solely for this competition. Non-winning entries remain yours and can be shared publicly as portfolio work only. Mermaid Elle® and Saving the Seas Corp reserve the right to share any and all submissions online and across social media platforms for promotional purposes, with full credit given to the creator.

Timeline

The submission deadline is September 22, 2026. The winner will be notified and announced within 1 week of the closing date.​
